Anne Benischek 'Missprint' Class1 4/4 |
| The Speedchampionships very own Sabine Schmitz. This German import is double driving a Standard 1985, 1640cc Ford XFlow 4/4 with her fiance Andrew. This is Anne's first season in motorsport in 2008 after attending the taster day and she uses the "drive it like you stole it" technique of obtaining fast times which seems to have paid off, by winning the Fastest Lady Awards in the Speedchampionship in 2008 and 2009. A female car nut that lives with a car nut who has a car nut family...can generally be spotted "en mass" at Sprint meets". | ||
Andrew Miller 'Wing Commander Miller' Class 1 4/4 |
| Andrew, official car nut and hobbyist engineer from Surrey, when not found researching performance engineering or driving can be found at his actual job where he spends his apre time. Having campaigned B303 HNP in his 1st year in the championship after attending the MSCC Taster Day in a state of using a overweight and underpoweredcar, he's back for the 2009 season yet again double driving with his Fiancee Anne in an Evolution of his Class 1 car. Work during the winter of 2008 & 2009 has been focused on saving weight from the Steel body as well as finding those escaped horses from the original 24 year old, 52,000 mile engine. Having managed to win the Class 1 Championship and the Parc Ferme Trophy in 2008, he also achieved 8th overall in the 2008 championship standings. B303HNP Evo 1 is a Class 1 1985, 1640cc Standard Ford CVH Engined 4/4 running on Toyo Proxes. Joe Phillips Class 1 4/4 |
Karena Carden Class 1 4/4 |
'Since arriving on this planet wrapped in tinfoil and wondering whether someone would remove the potatoes and parsnips placed by my cot, I have generally believed in the well used motto, "no point in rushing." This applies to all events tackled with my standard 1971, 1700cc Ford Xflow engined 4/4, called Millie running on Michelin ZX’s who has managed to remain on all fours over the last two seasons, taking a couple of class wins (both follies, you understand) and a worm around the Speed Championship. I’ve been competing since 2007 and have won class awards like 1st out of the Morgan’s at Three Sisters in 2007 & 2008, she also won the Unstone Trophy in 2009 and has won MSCC Annual Awards like The Right Turn Trophy in 2008 and the Vice President's Cup in 2009 Life has suddenly moved up a gear in class one, so I've been polishing my luggage rack (you never know when it could be useful) to let the airstreams slip by easily. I've also been running around a lot so if push comes to shove, I can always get a quicker time running around the courses than actually driving Millie. As I am currently involved in building a new home in Scotland with my husband Roger, (saw the exit sign and left teaching), away from Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire where we currently reside. It can get quite confusing between driving the JCB and then driving Millie; so far, Millie hasn't lifted any timber frames or run over any sheep but I am willing to sprint the JCB. On a final note I am rather partial to doughnuts, koala bears and a certain brand of crème egg.' |
